Does everything need to be useful?
A provocation about whether learning, attention, art, rest, and curiosity must justify themselves through measurable output.
Demanding usefulness can expose empty ritual. It can also make every part of life answer to productivity, employability, or growth.
Some knowledge becomes useful only much later. Some experiences matter without becoming inputs to another result. Some forms of attention protect the ability to perceive what prevailing systems have learned to ignore.
The question is not whether usefulness matters. It is whether usefulness is the only permitted form of value.
